While no subscription is running, every PDF the app makes carries a repeated “Created with InvoQuill” mark across each page. It is there on issued documents, on drafts, on the sample you see when you try a design, and on every report, so you meet it on your own screen rather than after a customer has.
The mark is drawn by the app, not by your document design. Changing the accent colour, the typeface or the template’s own watermark wording will not move it, and on a draft it is drawn with DRAFT under it rather than the usual DRAFT stamp on its own.
Start your free week, or resume your subscription, and the mark is gone — from new documents and from ones you made before.
Nothing is locked at the front door. You can set the whole business up and work in it without paying, and you only meet a price at the moment you ask the app to do the thing the subscription is for. Every price sheet has a Not Now button and it always works.
Free, with no countdown and nothing to buy:
Part of the subscription:
If you stop paying you lose nothing you have already done. Every record stays, you can still open it, and you will still be told when an invoice is late.
Sync is not a backup. A deletion synchronises too, so keep a separate verified archive. Making a backup is part of the subscription, so create one while your subscription is running. Putting a backup back never needs one.
There is one plan and one tier, bought on the Apple Account you are signed in with. A plan shared with you through Family Sharing does not open the paid features; it has to be bought on the account in use.
Apple processes charges, eligibility, cancellation, billing retry, revocation and refund decisions. InvoQuill never receives card details.
Writing speech down as it is spoken needs iOS 26 or later and a device whose hardware supports Apple’s speech models. The app asks the hardware as well as the version, so an older handset running iOS 26 is told plainly that it cannot listen instead of being offered a Start button that would fail.
Writing the conversation up into a note needs one thing more: Apple Intelligence supported by the device and switched on. Where the phone can hear but not summarise, every word is still captured and you write the note yourself with Edit note, with the whole conversation under Transcript.
Where the phone can do neither, use Write it down and type what was said. The record, the job and the report all work exactly the same.
Recording what was said is part of the subscription, at the Start button and at both Write it down buttons.
Other things worth checking on the recording screen:
Recordings stay on the phone. They are not in your iCloud and not in your device backup. You choose how long the sound is kept — from a week up to a year, or for good — and it is three weeks until you change it. When that time is up the recording deletes itself, and the words and the note stay.
The watch figures — what you are owed, what is overdue and what you have been paid this year — are part of the subscription. Without a running subscription nothing is published to the watch, and anything already showing is taken back, so yesterday’s takings are not left sitting on your wrist.
App Lock reaches the watch too. Lock the app on your phone and the figures disappear from your wrist until you unlock it.
A conversation you record on the watch goes to your paired iPhone over Apple’s own link, and the watch only lets go of its copy once the phone has it. Your phone writes it up the next time you open InvoQuill, so open the app on the phone and look under What was said. Keep the two near each other until it has gone across.
If something takes the watch’s microphone part way through, it tells you at the time and still sends over everything it heard up to that point.
The chosen photo did not include location details, and the app did not save an authorised location at the time. The report setting can show or hide coordinates that are already saved, but it cannot add a location afterwards.
For the next photo, review Location permission when the app asks for it and check the saved evidence before relying on the report.
Choose Low, Medium or High in the job-report evidence controls before creating a new report. High uses all detail available from the saved source. It cannot restore detail already removed by an older app version, photo picker or previous copy.
Before anything else, check it is not simply waiting for you. Automatic mileage starts watching only once you have checked in to a job, and only when the phone can tell you are genuinely driving, so walking away from a job never starts a trip. A drive it records always finishes as a draft, so look in the trip list for one still waiting to be kept or thrown away.
If it is missing altogether, check Location permission, Precise Location, Motion & Fitness where relevant, battery level, signal, Low Power Mode and whether the app was force quit. iOS can limit background recording.
Review the date, purpose, start, finish, distance, rate and linked job before you keep the trip. You can also turn automatic mileage off altogether and tap Start Trip yourself.
For a UK rate of forty-five pence, enter 0.45, or 0,45 if your region uses a comma, and check that the saved value shows £0.45.
Scheduled email is a local reminder, not unattended delivery. Tap the notification to open the exact document and prepared message, then review the recipient, wording and PDF and tap Send in Apple Mail. Confirm that Mail is configured on the device.
Getting a document to the customer is part of the subscription on every route — print, share, email and a text message alike — so the price sheet can appear at the Send step.
First open the business you want to use in InvoQuill. Then open the Apple Intelligence and Siri section in InvoQuill Help and try the action from Shortcuts. If Siri asks which customer, document or job you mean, choose the exact record. Important actions still need to be finished and confirmed in InvoQuill.
Siri will record your own facts — a cost, a start time, a finish time, a trip — and it will never issue an invoice, send anything to a customer or move a penny. Nothing Siri does works on a locked phone: Face ID or your passcode comes first, every time.
Core tasks still work. Descriptions, expense categories, reminders and bank-match explanations use a simpler built-in result where one exists, while natural-language questions in Today may be more limited. Check that the device supports Apple Intelligence, uses iOS 26 or later, has Apple Intelligence turned on and has finished preparing the on-device model.
The place you will notice it most is the written-up note in What was said. Without Apple Intelligence the words are still captured in full and you write the note yourself.
The separate 3 to 6 character app passcode is not stored in a readable form, does not sync and cannot be recovered by support. It is different from your device passcode and is not Face ID, Touch ID or database encryption.
These checks solve many device, permission and Apple Account problems.
Open Settings → About InvoQuill and note the version and build. Install the latest App Store version available to you, using the link below. If you are testing a beta, use the latest TestFlight build.
Open the customer, job, document, trip or report where it happened. Check any highlighted fields and read the complete message on screen.
Review iOS Settings if the problem involves Camera, Photos, Location, Motion & Fitness, Microphone, Calendar or notifications.
Before reinstalling or changing Apple Accounts, create and verify a backup of important records in Settings → Backup and Restore. Making a backup is part of the subscription. Putting one back is not, so a backup you already hold can be restored whether or not your subscription is running.
