The note writes itself when you stop.
What it came to, what was settled, what happens next and what is still open. Nothing reaches the note that was not in the room: a price, a date or a day that was not actually said does not get printed, and a figure somebody turned down stays turned down. The note is yours to edit before it goes anywhere near a customer.
Every word is kept beside it.
When somebody disputes what was agreed you have the whole conversation, not just the summary. Prices, dates and reference numbers are lifted out word for word.
It admits what it missed.
A call coming in or a headset dropping out leaves a gap. The note says where it happened and for how long, instead of quietly closing it up.
The sound deletes itself.
You choose how long a recording is kept: a week, a month, a year, or for good. When the time is up the sound goes and the words and the note stay.

Outstanding, overdue and what you have been paid this year, in every widget size iOS offers and on the Lock Screen too. Totals only, never a customer’s name or an invoice number, because a Home Screen can be read without unlocking.
Today’s plan before you open anything
The large widget shows how many jobs are booked, when the first one starts and how many invoices need chasing. It tells you how old its figures are, and when money is overdue, iOS brings it to the front of your Smart Stack.
A notification at half past seven
What is late, what is due and what is booked in, at 7:30 or whatever time you set. Numbers, never names, so nobody reading your Lock Screen learns who owes you. Tap it and it opens the exact invoice. If nothing needs you, nothing arrives. Without a subscription it carries late money only — being told an invoice is overdue is free either way.
It notices when you pull up
Switch on arrival alerts and the phone offers to check you in when you reach an address you have work booked at, recording the time you arrived rather than the time you got round to tapping. It waits four minutes, so driving past the end of the road never sets it off, and it says nothing about the place you set off from every day.
The figures on your wrist
The Apple Watch app shows what is outstanding, what is overdue and what you have been paid this year without you touching your phone. Press record on your wrist and your iPhone writes the conversation up next time you open it. Lock the app on the phone and the figures leave the watch too.
Ask, instead of typing
Siri will record a cost, start work, finish work or log a trip. It will never issue an invoice, send anything to a customer or move a penny, and none of it works on a locked phone. Checked in to a job? A live card counts the hours on your Lock Screen with the app shut.
The paperwork
What leaves the app is sealed.
A quote or an invoice goes out as a PDF your customer can open and print, and cannot quietly change.
Sealed before it leaves your phone
Every PDF is encrypted as it is written. Your customer opens it with no password and prints it as normal, but cannot edit it, copy the text out of it, add notes to it or slip a page in. Screen readers still read it aloud, so sealing a document never makes it awkward to use. Software that chooses to ignore those settings can still import the page, and anything on a screen can be photographed, so this is not a promise that nothing can ever be faked. What it does mean is that no ordinary reader will let a figure be changed, and that if the seal is interfered with, that can be seen afterwards.
No editing password to lose
The file carries one, but it is made at random at the moment the document is written and thrown away on the spot. Nobody holds it: not your customer, not us, not you. Once a document is issued, that is what was issued.
Numbers that run straight
Document numbers run in order and never repeat. Restore a backup or change a setting by mistake and a number that has been used stays used. Void an invoice and the number stays on the record, so nothing quietly disappears from your paperwork. Set your own prefix and digits, and reset the count each year if that suits your books.
A way for the customer to pay
Add your own Stripe, PayPal, Square, SumUp or GoCardless link and every invoice goes out with a code to scan and a button to tap. The code is made on your phone. We never handle your money and never store payment keys: the link goes to your own account, and you record the payment when it lands.

Nineteen of them
Money in and out, work, tax, registers, who owes you, and planning — over your own financial year, a quarter, a month or any two dates you pick. Each one reads the document your customer received rather than working the figures out again, so a report cannot disagree with the paperwork. Reading them on screen is free; printing, sending or saving one is part of Pro.
In the format they ask for
Six file formats, with the separators, decimal marks, date style and column names set to match whatever they use. Save a set-up you send every quarter and it comes back exactly as you left it. The app keeps a list of what left it and when.
Less typing in the evening
Snap a receipt and the supplier, total, tax and date are filled in for you, on the phone, ready to check. Bring in a bank statement as a file, a PDF or a photo of the paper. Payments are matched by the reference on the invoice, not by the amount, and every match is a suggestion you confirm one at a time.

Core records and drafts work without a connection. Private iCloud sync keeps supported records updated across your Apple devices at no extra cost. With Pro you can also keep a separate copy in the Files app and lock it with a passphrase; restoring one is always available, subscribed or not.

You walk into the whole app, and you only meet a price at the moment you ask it to do the thing you are paying for. One plan, no tiers to choose between: £4.99 a month in the UK, with a free week to start if your Apple Account is eligible. The App Store shows your own price in your own currency. You cancel from your own Apple account — there is no separate InvoQuill account, and no card details for us to hold.
